Designed and built in 1875 by prolific York architects J.B. & W. Atkinson for prosperous artisans (B. Seebohm Rowntree Esq. called them the ‘servant-keeping’ class), this great Victorian house stands back from the picturesque conservation village of Clifton Green.
The property has been lovingly updated with a nod to the richesse of the great Minster, a thumbs-up to the mighty bison of the American Great Plains, and a firm hug to the comforts of luxury brands, warm velvets, designer wallpapers, and undertones of gold.

We have designed and decorated each room in the property in the style of Americana à la Victoriana. We have eight guest rooms, four themed for the Bishop, and four themed for the American Bison.
